Vanda Kay (aka Bassy McBassFace) is a versatile electric bass player with experience in a variety of genres, including country, rock/pop, soul, blues and gypsy jazz. She has performed at some of Chicago’s most beloved venues (including The Hideout, Fitzgerald’s and the venerable Old Town School of Folk Music) in an array of bands and ensembles covering the full gamut of American popular music. The main attributes of her bass playing are, in the words of her musical partner, Bob Goins, "knowing how it goes and how it doesn't go." That, and being all about the groove.
Studio recordings include LeAnn Stutler’s debut album, “Keeps Getting Better” and her 2017 EP “It’s About Time.”
